VANCOUVER, Canada / SHENZHEN, China — July 5, 2026

For the past three years, artificial intelligence has fundamentally changed how children access information. Yet one important question has remained unanswered:

Can AI do more than help children find answers? Can it help children build stronger brains?

Today, Meowsprout believes that question has its first scientific answer.

Meowsprout announced that BrainArk®, its proprietary NeuroAI-powered cognitive training platform, has successfully completed the world’s first randomized controlled trial (RCT) evaluating AI-driven brain development in children. The study has been published in the Journal of Intelligence, an internationally recognized Q1 peer-reviewed journal.

The results demonstrated that after only six consecutive days of personalized training (240 minutes total), children who used BrainArk showed statistically significant improvements in:

  • Working Memory
  • Inhibitory Control
  • Exact Mathematical Calculation

Most importantly, the study demonstrated a significant transfer effect from cognitive training to academic performance—one of the most challenging questions in cognitive science over the past two decades.

Addressing One of Cognitive Science’s Biggest Challenges

For years, researchers have debated whether working memory training truly improves real-world learning.

While many cognitive training programs improve performance on trained tasks, relatively few demonstrate measurable improvements that transfer to broader academic abilities.

BrainArk was specifically designed to address this challenge.

Rather than repeatedly training isolated cognitive tasks, BrainArk integrates neuroscience, adaptive artificial intelligence, and executive function training into a unified NeuroAI framework that continuously personalizes every learning experience.

The findings suggest that AI-powered cognitive training may help strengthen the underlying cognitive systems that support learning—not simply improve performance on individual exercises.

The Clinical Study

The randomized controlled trial enrolled 89 school-age children, who were randomly assigned to one of three groups:

  • BrainArk IA-WMT Training Group
  • Active Control Group
  • Passive Control Group

Participants completed standardized cognitive and academic assessments before and after the intervention.

Following six consecutive days of adaptive training, researchers observed significant improvements in:

  • Working memory across both verbal and visuospatial domains
  • Inhibitory control, one of the core executive functions
  • Exact mathematical calculation, demonstrating meaningful transfer to academic performance

These findings represent an important milestone in the emerging field of AI-driven brain development.

Introducing NeuroAI

BrainArk is built on NeuroAI, Meowsprout’s proprietary technology platform that combines:

  • Neuroscience
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Digital Biomarkers
  • Adaptive Cognitive Training

At the center of the platform is the Integrated Adaptive Working Memory Training (IA-WMT) framework, which continuously adjusts training difficulty according to each child’s performance, helping maintain engagement while supporting brain plasticity.

Rather than training memory alone, BrainArk is designed to strengthen the cognitive architecture that supports learning, reasoning, attention, and lifelong development.

A New Era: From AI for Education to AI for Brain Development

Generative AI has transformed access to knowledge.

Meowsprout believes the next frontier is helping children build stronger cognitive foundations.

As AI becomes increasingly integrated into education, the ability to develop attention, working memory, executive function, and cognitive flexibility will become even more essential.

BrainArk represents Meowsprout’s vision of moving beyond AI that simply provides answers toward AI that supports lifelong brain development.

Statement from Dr. Hao Li

“Over the past decade, AI has become increasingly capable of helping people find answers. We believe the next breakthrough will be helping children build stronger minds. This clinical validation represents not only an important milestone for BrainArk, but also a meaningful step toward a new generation of AI-powered brain development technologies.”
